The historic wine of the Montevertine winery, produced from 1971 to 1981 as Chianti Classico Montevertine and since 1982, following their exit from the Chianti Classico Consortium, simply as Montevertine. Produced from selected Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, it ages for two years in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels.
Grapes: Sangiovese 90% – Canaiolo 5% – Colorino 5%
Region: Tuscany/ Radda di Chianti
Aging: 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and approximately 3 months in the bottle
Serving temperature: 17-18°
Pairings: cured meats, grilled meats, first courses, stews, stewed fish.
